Post by: mobaholic on March 16, 2011, 12:35:12 PM

The threats landscape has changed considerably over the past year with marked increases in malware sophistication and targeting as well as in the overall volume of daily malware threats.

Significantly, the nature of the threats is changing, with the Apple iPhone and other mobile devices increasingly in the firing line.

Botnets continue to be one of the greatest and most sophisticated threats with increasingly effective data exfiltration capabilities. Cybercriminals are engaging in a growing number of targeted attacks.

This free paper (http://email.theinquirer.net/c/12U8ECVJ4PRpgmMcpTbl) from McAfee offers a summary of the threats we all need to  be aware of over the next 12 months and beyond.

Issues covered:-

>  Exploitation of social media

>  Specific threats to Apple Mac OS X

>  “Signed” malware that imitates legitimate files
