Title: Sales of mobile broadband rise again in September
Post by: mobaholic on October 27, 2008, 03:27:56 PM

Mobile broadband sales peaked in July, but rose again last month.

The number of mobile broadband subscriptions sold between October last year and September last year has reached almost a million.  Data from Gfk shows that 956,000 mobile broadband connections have been sold over the past year.  Sales peaked in July, when 163,000 connections were sold within the month.  Sales were down to 140,000 in August and 149,000 in September.

The majority of the connections are on a contract basis, normally ranging from 18 to 24 months, and many also have a laptop bundled in.  But almost a quarter of mobile broadband connections sold in September this year were on a prepay basis.

There are graphs of these sales displayed at:- Mobile Today (http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/Mobile_broadband_peaked_in_July.html?terms=peaked&fragment=&SearchType=&terms=peaked).
