Title: Vodafone passport drops connection charge for the summer
Post by: mobaholic on May 14, 2009, 01:50:07 PM

Vodafone is to drop international roaming charges ( excluding data ) during the summer, allowing customers to make international calls for the same cost as a UK call.  The offer applies to business customers as well as consumers, the mobile operator said.

Vodafone Pay As You Go and Pay Monthly customers will be able to call, text and send picture messages in over 35 countries across Europe for the same cost as in the UK.  The deal runs from 1 June to the end of August.

The company is also cutting the cost of calling abroad from the UK.  From 15 May, Pay As You Go customers on the firm's Simply tariff will be able to make international calls from 5p per minute to both landlines and mobiles.

Consumers can check here (http://www.abroad.vodafone.co.uk/roaming/) for more information, while business customers should go here (http://www.vodafone.co.uk/businessroaming).

Graham has asked me to make it clear that, in order to get the discounted rates for international calls abroad, one has to register for Vodafone International by calling 36888, or texting INTERNATIONAL to 2345.  I believe that this applies to the Simply PAYG tariff.

This information was not included in the article that I posted yesterday.

Thanks Graham.
