Orange has jumped on fresher’s week by targeting students with a bundled promotion, linking a phone deal with mobile broadband. Under a ‘just for students’ top line,
Orange is offering a Samsung G600, unlimited texts, 200 minutes a month and a 3GB per month dongle, ‘all for £35’.
O2, meanwhile, is stepping up its efforts to increase take-up of home broadband. A huge ‘cover wrap’ around the front, back and inside cover pages trumpets its speeds and high scores from ‘money supermarket’ and ‘top ten broadband’. On the promotion front,
O2 is bundling free home broadband when customers sign up to mobile broadband.
An interesting development this week has been the pre-ordering promotions on the N96. It is the first appearance of the N96, with both Dial-A-Phone and
'3' taking pre-orders.
3 if promising a free N96 with a mixture of 300 minutes or 300 texts for £30 a month.
Finally,
Orange took bigger steps to take the Blackberry to the consumer market with promotions for the Bold and a pink Pearl in the News of the World.
