This looks an interesting service Joby, but having just taken a quick look at it, there seem to be some snags to it, and something which needs explaining.
The first snag that I saw was the connection charges. I put in UK to Hungary as an example to get a rate, and saw £0.011/min to landlines, and £0.097/min to mobiles. I was thinking that the former one looked quite competitive - until I saw in small print: "
A connection fee of £0.011 applies to all calls." That would double the rate for landlines in the first minute, and put the mobile rate above others as well.
I then notices that these were the subscription rates, and that the Pay & Go ones were a lot worse. 0.018£/min to landlines, and a whopping 0.151£/min - which are well over the going rates, to mobiles at least.
The mystery is the currency choice - which includes "Jaxtr jax ( JAX )".
What is this please ?
