As long as the customers were ridiculed into high contract termination charges one will not try to end his contract, now a days Ofcom (mostly called as toothless watchdog) is unveiling stringent measures. Why not they take similar steps for broadband termination charges as well if a customer would like to end his contract? Does anyone know why some countries operate in the way that is similar to the UK market of offering broadband, landline, TV packages and someother household requirements via contract means? This way even though the customer is unhappy with the services they are offering cannot migrate to another provider owing to the high termination charges of the contract. " TalkTalk introduced its new charges on 1 June 2010 (except for its Tiscali brand, where charges will change on 1 November 2010). Virgin Media and BT will introduce the new charges in October 2010." Talk Talk does cover its combined essentials phone/broadband service as does Virgin Media. With Talk Talk you might be worse off then before depending on how long you have to go,as their previous practice was to cap early termination at £70.
