Title: LG GD900 Goes On Sale In July At Carphone Warehouse
Post by: mobaholic on May 30, 2009, 09:48:45 AM

LG's transparent Crystal phone will be exclusively available for sale at Carphone Warehouse from the 1st of July with interested customers being able to pick it up for £35 per month.

The GD900 (http://www.itproportal.com/portal/news/article/2009/4/26/lg-gd900-crystal-comes-carphone-warehouse-soon/) is very similar to the LG Arena KM900 but comes with a transparent slide-out keypad which introduces some rather nifty features like finger-writing recognition, haptic feedback and multi-touch zooming.

The screen is a capacitive touchscreen one capable of displaying 480 x 800 pixel on a 3-inch diagonal. The phone has 1.5GB worth of storage space which can be augmented to 33.5GB thanks to a microSD slot that accommodates 32GB microSD cards.

The rest of the phone isn't half as bad as well.  There's a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, a 7.2mbps HSDPA connection, WiFi, assisted GPS and the new S-Class 3D user interface.

There's also an inbuilt accelerometer, a full page rendering web browser, a FM tuner, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP.  The GD900 also boosts a recording resolution of 720x480 pixels (much better than grainy VHS).

Some of the features like the screen appears to have slightly changed since we first reported about it. The GD900 will launch in chromium and titanium colours.

Their Comments:-

"Will it survive a fall?  Hopefully yes, despite the fact that it is made partly from tempered glass.  Aside from this potential "issue", the phone appears to be a sure winner especially as it will be available for £35 per month and is an absolutely stunning model".
