With more and more networks moving to contracts lasting 18 months or more, it is good to note that there are still some shorter lasting deals on offer.
On '
3', their store still shows a few 'special offers' of contracts lasting just 6 months. See
here.
All of the other networks still offer contracts lasting just a month. To see how these compare with one another, we will take the £15 and £20 monthly deals:-
On
O2, the £15 'Simplicity' deal gives you 200 mins and 400 texts, Plus Unlimited O2 to O2 Calls.
This increases to 400 mins and 1000 texts, Plus Unlimited O2 to O2 Calls, if you pay £20 per month.
See
here.
On
Vodafone, you have a choice of £15 tariffs:-
225 Anytime minutes plus 100 texts;
or 150 minutes plus 500 texts.
Their £20 tariff -
if bought online - gives 750 anytime minutes plus unlimited texts.
See
here.
On
Orange, the Dolphin £15 tariff offers 150 anytime minutes plus 300 texts,
whereas the £20 Dolphone tariff gives 200 anytime minutes plus unlimited texts.
See
here.
Finally, on
T-Mobile, their Solo 15 tariff gives 350 minutes plus 650 texts,
and their £20 Solo tariff gives 500 minutes and unlimited texts.

here.
Please be
warned that, although the four above are described as 'monthly contracts', they still require a month's notice to be given before disconnection. The only way, therefore, that one can truly last just a month is
if you give notice to end on the same day as you begin!
Those preferring a lot of minutes will obviously make different choices from those wanting a high, or unlimited, text allowance.
