Post by: mobileman on September 15, 2008, 04:23:45 PM

Share of pay as you go increases

According to Mobile Today (http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/Prepay_growth_accelerates_from_last_year.html), "The share of prepay in mobile sales keeps increasing as operators push discounted pay as you go deals to increase the number of subscribers.

Cheap prepay deals have increased the share of prepay sales from total sales over the past year.  56.2% of all sales last year were prepay, compared to 58.9% this year.

Prepay sales boomed over the Christmas period, as networks came out with their most competitive deals. In November the share of prepay was two thirds, while in December it was up to almost three quarters".
