Hi.

I am sure many people like me need to regularly send text messages abroad.  Networks charge quite a bit for them for example for sending texts to India, O2 charges me 14 pence per message which I think is quite a bit.

I used to use Vyke till recently for the same.  Vyke provides a java application over GPRS/ Wifi to send text messages and used to charge 1 pence per message and was quite reliable.  Secondly the message appears from your mobile number, so if someone replies it comes like a normal message to your mobile.  Also there was no advertising on Vyke- all in all it was a complete replacement for normal mobile messaging.

Recently vyke changes their system a bit and now charge 3 pence for each message.

I am sure I sound too demanding, but is there any alternative which offers similar facilities as Vyke and is cheaper?  I send quite a few number of messages every month and hence the query.

I can confirm that I have plans for a service that will allow you to use inclusive text allowances to send international texts. More will be discussed in due course on our members-only boards.

I am very intrigued... Will the service display your own number so the recipient will know who sent the message?

Thanks Mikael for your updates... I can see Pre-Dial becoming one stop shop for all International calls and texts and I could go for a unlimited texts bolt on soon to take advantage of these offerings  :)

Mikeal ... ive been waiting since 2008 for you next post on how you can text international through inclusive texts ...its now 2012 and im getting old and tired  :) ... does such a service still exist ?

Such a service has been running for quite a while! Please take a look at the text-through service board on this forum!
