HTC-built Google handset to be available in Spring 2010

The Google phone, Nexus One will go to Vodafone in Europe and will be available in Spring 2010.

Google vice president for product management, Mario Queiroz said: 'The Nexus One belongs in an emerging category of devices which we call "superphones".'

The phone, which has been made in partnership with HTC, will be sold through the Google store online either Sim-free or connected to an operator.

The Nexus One operates on a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor and will also operate on Android 2.1, the newest version of the operating system.

HTC CEO Peter Chou said: 'It pushes the limits of what is possible on a mobile phone today.  Our commitment to quality makes Nexus One what it is.'

In America, the phone will be available on T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless.
