Title: Advice about digital camera
Post by: ash on March 23, 2010, 03:01:09 AM
Could someone please advise me about buying a digital camera (approx 100 £) .. there are far too many to choose from.... I got confused in the local shop today. I'm just trying to upgrade my old 2MP Olympus which has done well for last 6 years.
I thought it might be helpful if someone has just bought a new one and would like to share the experience.
Thanks!

I had exactly the same problem at Christmas, as I wanted to get a decent Camera in the price range for my mum! I found the best reviewed on in that price range was a Canon IXUS 95. The cheapest place at Christmas time was £112 from Amazon. It has gone up to about £120 now - probably due to the falling pound, but it still looks like good value.

Hi ash!

If you want to stay with Olympus I'd suggest this one (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/568633/olympus-fe-5020-x-935-now-only-84-5).

A wide angle 24mm lens

5X Optical zoom

12 Mega pixels

Comparable to Canons Ixus 95

not bad for that price

There's plenty to choose from within that budget.
