Title: Cheapest Landline Connection charge for New Line.
Post by: BJ on July 27, 2010, 10:28:58 AM
Its not clear if the BT £29.99 (18 Month Contract) deal is still available.

Next cheapest seems to be £69 from these people, unless any body knows otherwise.

Beware though their Customer Service is poor.

www.phone.coop excellent customer service will fit one for £78.96.

Only if you take their broadband and the contract is 24 months i believe if you have a new line connected. Its also 24 months if you buy via CPW.

Did a bit search on that and found

You could also reconnect your phone line with Sky (www.sky.com). Prices vary but typically start from around £39. However to receive Sky home phone you must also be a Sky digital TV customer or a completely new customer to Sky. Prices start from £18 a month, so this could make the overall cost more expensive, particularly if you don’t watch that much TV or already have Freeview.

Could not find anything from sky website really  :(

Lahore Badshahs,
It would be good if you provide a link to support your posts.

Sky will only fit a line if it suits. They dont like the more difficult connection.

"What if I don’t have a working compatible phone line?

If you are a new Sky TV customer taking Sky Talk Calls and Sky Talk Line Rental, we can arrange for a new phone line to be installed or an existing phone line to be activated (“New Phone Line”). We will confirm the charge (if any) for your New Phone Line at the time of booking. Sky will not install a New Phone Line where extensive new line construction over and above standard needs is required. "

Remember in this thread we are talking about a completely new line connection with no strings attached, eg the need to buy an expensive TV Service. ;)

Also we are not talking about starting stopped lines where the full wiring is in situ, and dial tone still exists, which BT and other suppliers will do free of charge, or for a small fee.
