Title: Call Pakistan for 1.71p
Post by: radiakashyap on July 19, 2008, 01:21:52 PM

To call Pakistan landline or mobile for 1.71p. Visit http://www.text4calls.com/en/calling-rates.html#letp for more details.
It's look like introductory offer but cheaper for the users who call Pakistan.

I think you mean 1.71 pence a minute.  Please see admin note below.

That's on top of the cost of callback to a UK mobile, 6.35 p/min, so ~8 p/min total, subject to exchange rate variation

But the calls might be about 10% higher than that, as I suspect you would not get the Swiss VAT rate

For people on mobile contracts, callthrough would probably be cheaper for Pakistan and other destinations.  On payg, try one of the direct-dial mvno providers.

I think it will / may have some interesting other uses, for example when abroad, if they introduce it for other countries (though the sms cost will be higher for those), though there are cheaper options on other Betamax brands.

Thanks andy for pointing out the correct decimal place.
I think radiakashyap may have mistaken the column heading of GBP/min to mean 'GBPence' rather than GBPounds.        ;)
I have editted all posts in this thread accordingly.

I can guess a few options that you may have had in mind when you mentioned "direct-dial mvno providers", but for the benefit of members here - who don't have your knowledge in this field - please may I request that you make your suggestions more specific please ?

It would also be helpful to know what are the "cheaper options on other Betamax brands" to which you were referring kindly.

Thanks for your contribution.        :)
