Does anyone know how to find out the network provider of a access number 07700 389 090 which is mentioned in http://callfreefrommobiles.com/

I have already registered for this service,  so don't know if this goes to voice mail when you are not registered where you come to know the network provider, just in case if this o2 number there is 02 to 02 free calls bolt on.

Any Suggestions?

Jasdeep

Hi

There was some way of finding which network originally issued a given mobile number but cant seem to remember the site or link now

It does not work if the number has been ported from the original network it was issued from

The best link to use is probably in reply #7 currently.       ;)

Its definitely free (comes out of inclusive minutes) from O2 pay monthly contract.
17 Sep 10   12:53:03    07700389xxx     Peak     00:00:15     0.000     F
18 Sep 10    03:11:34    07700389xxx    Weekend    00:00:43    0.000    F
18 Sep 10    03:12:25    07700389xxx    Weekend    00:31:48    0.000    F

I think they have plenty of access numbers (07700 range). Last 3 digits of access number change everytime you refresh their webpage.

Does anyone know if the O2 access numbers will work, and be inclusive on Tesco or GiffGaff, which back on to the O2 network?

Did you mean: "Can someone...", or did you mean: "Please will someone... " ?        :-\

The question, as you posed it is one of ability, not of volition.        ???

Anyway to answer your question, NO it's not.  It is on the Cable and Wireless Jersey network.        ;)

Hi Mobaholic,
good to see u online  :) I have O2 simplicity contract, I have 300 inclusive minutes to any network, and unlimited land-line calls... so 07700 389 070 will be deducted from the 300 mins right?

Site doesn’t work for me  ???

And what is it that "doesn't work for you" exactly? The website itself, the access number(s) or you can't connect to your desired international number?

the website seems to provide a 076xxxxx no. for sending text and then 077xxx no. to call   ::)

as pointed out earlier, the quality of call isn't very good  :(

You don't have to be an experienced member to see the 'Click here for your instructions' link. ;) What teases my curiosity is how you've come across that page when there's no reference to it on the main page whatsoever. 8)
However, the info's useless, as the service is the same like the discontinued for O2 customers 'rival service' (http://txtandcalls.com/) we've already commented upon. :'( I am still very angry at O2 for cutting them (the 'rival service' and Mikael's service) off.  >:( It's the same like when Skype barred fring from using their network, which is really shameful, if not even disgusting. :-X

Are you saying you're on O2 and have managed to use the texts-to-minutes service quoted above? I genuinely doubt it, as the top-up numbers simply don't work. My phone says "Unable to send message" and further "Invalid phone or message centre number." when trying to send a message for credits. The call-through numbers do work though but they are virtually useless, as you're unable to top-up. :-\

I know this is OT, but I am curious about this problem, and what is so bad about it. What was the application of this and what is no longer working now? I am sure there is a very easy way around this as there are so many gateways between different Voip platforms that I can hardly see this as being an issue these days. I maybe able to help.
(If this is too OT, please start a new thread.)

oops. Sorry. I thought it was common knowledge:
OT = Off topic

As you are a mod, if my question is too far off the topic of this thread, please split and move.

I thought it would be off topic but I don't want to simply guess and think I knew without actually knowing it  ;)

Yup, I felt it looks a bit different topic to the thread which could be discussed more in details in our forum's  VoIP related technology thread.

--- Srikanth.

P.S:-

Regarding your advise of splitting the thread and moving to different area, I would wait until moonandstar takes a decision.

For the record, I feel quite relaxed about petkow's question being answered in this thread.

There was no attempt to hijack the thread, and sometimes it is more tedious moving a query to an artificial new thread than it is to answer where the question was posed.      ;)

Here's the article (http://www.fring.com/newsroom/skypeblocksfring.asp) to read about what's happened. The bad thing about this is that you could make phone-to-phone Skype video calls via fring (which supports the simultaneous use of plenty of other messengers) and now you can't. Well, I've done it may be only twice (I'm not a big fan of video calls) but I preferred using fring to Skype's mobile application. Now I have to use the crappy Skype software for mobile phones, when I want to talk to or simply chat with someone on Skype (however, you could use for example Nimbuzz instead).
I do use VoIP (both on the computer and on the phone - e.g. Nonoh (http://www.nonoh.net/en/index.php)) but am not familiar with how things with VoIP connectivity work exactly, so I can't say if, at all, there's a way around what Skype have shamefully done. :-\

Anyway, I'm still awaiting asad's reply. :)

@Doondie:  :) I was out of town so sorry for late reply... Its obvious that teases you of thinking, how I reached this page? 8) I was reading some of the post at this forum I visited the website I started using this service but soon after someday's access number's where not working, so again I checked websites for any updates... but I found the link at the header saying, Free text topup for international call ;) , and there was this page, lucky enough I bookmarked this page, but couldn't dare to use this service as I couldn't find any 01, 02 or 03 access number ;D , I read the whole instruction ::) .So what I meant by experienced member means is anyone who had used this service might be knowing about the access number if so they can help me. I think this might help U...!!!

@doondie... sorry about the late late reply... what i meant my last post was the website only displayed those numbers... but i wasn't able to send any texts  ;)
@sekhar... there was a 033....... number which you should be dialling to register yourself the first time you are using the service and then supposed to dial the 077xxxx no.

i know you will be asking me the 033.... number but i didn't save that number so can't really help... other members might be able to let you know
