Title: T mobile Sim Only Deal.....But HURRY!!!.....NOW EXPIRED
Post by: jagga303 on October 24, 2011, 05:53:39 PM
                                     ******** EXPIRED *********

On the T-mobile website there is an offer for a 12 month sim only deal where you get 300 mins, 300 texts and choose 1 booster for a monthly cost of £0.00 per month, no cashback involved. Seems to be a mistake. But orders are going through with confirmation emails being sent. So you get 12 months FREE.

No harm in trying, you have 7 days to cancel.

But hurry!!!!

Order placed with unlimited landline booster...I have a feeling that they will say that there is an error and that their T&Cs state that their offers can change at any time, or something along those lines...Let's see. As you rightly say, Jagga, we've got 7 days to change our minds if they do comeback with any crap.

People have ordered, got confirmation emails, then got dispatch emails.
Their T&C's state contract is formed once confirmation email is sent, also the price you pay is the price displayed at time of order.
Their T&C's are against them on this one I'm afraid, it will be difficult for them to get out of this one.

I'm preety confident this is a planned aggressive marketing promotion - it isn't any mistake. T-mobile wants more customers at any price in a very short time. We could only guess why they're doing this.

BTW Mind you - I think the competitors could get them reported for doing this as I believe it's unfair trading (dumping pricing policy).

razian97 - you need to be aware that T-mobile allows only 2 concurrent calls to be placed. If you're still interested you might find you could get better deal cheaper. Sorry mate I can't be bothered to go through all the posts to see if this offer is still available.

Also if you are interested only in the service you mentioned there are better and cheaper alternatives out there. I think mh posted quite good e2save offer some time ago.

This is what I got from T-mobile :'(

Thanks for placing an order online with T-Mobile.

We're really sorry but there was an error on the T-Mobile website and the price of the plan you ordered was incorrect. The price of your chosen plan is actually £10.21 a month, so we are unable to proceed with your offer to pay £0.00 a month instead.

To say sorry and to make sure you still get the great value plan you're looking for, we are happy to offer you a discounted price of £7.71 a month for 12 months instead.

If you are interested in accepting this offer, please call us on 0800 956 5038 and choose option 3 within the next 5 days with the following order reference number - 2835403. If we don't hear from you within 7 days from your original date of ordering, then we'll assume you no longer wish to keep the service and we'll cancel your account.

We're available between 8am and 9pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm on a Saturday. If you would like to check our legal stuff for online orders click here.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

T-Mobile

Just received this from T-Mobile. This is not the first time they've backed down, obviously they realised their own T&C's got the better of them!

Hello,

Thank you for your recent online order with T-Mobile for the SIM card only offer, which was mistakenly priced at £0.

We know some people were disappointed when we told them we’d made a mistake and that it should have been £10 a month.

The great news is that the original offer price will stand and we'll be reviewing all the orders shortly. Once we've done that, we'll begin order processing from Monday onwards.

What happens next?

We'll contact you from Monday by email with more details about your order.

Please don't contact us in the meantime – we won't be able to update you further until later this week.

If you signed up for the £7.71 a month offer following our last email, we'll be in touch about how we’ll move you to the cheaper price plan too.

We'll be in touch again soon. Thanks for your interest in T-Mobile.

Kind regards,
The T-Mobile team

It's a 12 month contract but that just refers to the minimum term you must keep it for, it should just roll on after that.

Everyone who ordered this at £0.00 will be getting it for that. I've been told its 12 months contract and unless you change the package after 12 months you will stay on same deal, for same price of £0.00 per month. So if you don't change anything this is a contract for life for free.

By the way I hope many users on this forum took advantage of this offer.

Has anyone got the simcard yet?

Strangely, I have received one from T mobile yesterday, I did place an order, but never got an email confirmation and no emails which said it would be £7 or anything as such.

Got the sim delivered yesterday, it looked a bit unusual, the T&C's were printed on an A4 sheet with no logo of T-mobile, quite bizzare, however I haven't started using the sim.

Well if you get it, my money's on betting they won't extend it beyond that !       ;)

My information is that T-Mobile are now adding new numbers to existing customers' accounts, but the contract details are shown as being £10 per month.  When customer services are challenged about this, they are replying in terms of a credit being placed on the account which will deal with the line rental for the first 12 months.  So they ARE limiting their losses to just the first year - as I predicted.        :)

( Something very similar happened to me when I got an artificially low contract price from '3' some 2 or 3 yeas ago.  They too dealt with it in this way. )        ;)

So davegr, I guess it's time that I claimed my 1p bet from you - unless you can dispute this information !         ;D

No, mine is not showing online, either, but when I spoke to customer services, they assured me that I would not be paying anything and that a credit was applied on the account.

I would urge all members on here who applied for this offer, (thanks again Jagga) and have received their sims to check their allowances. I did this straight away and found that there was no booster added to my account. I immediately rang 150, option 3, and asked customer services if my plan included the booster that I had selected when I placed my original order. I was told that my account did not appear to be showing any booster and was thanked for contacting them. They then added the booster that I had ordered and within 20 seconds I received a text to confirm this.

It may also be worth noting your 'Upgrade Date' in your diary as this will be 30 days before the 12 months expires. I ported over a previous T-Mobile number to another provider and was charged just over £15 for doing it just two days after the contract was due to expire, though within the 30 days for using the PAC code (!!!)  :'(

Finally, don't forget that T-Mobile charge you to access voicemail and that it does not come out of your cross net minutes allowance.

They applied the wrong booster to my account. I then changed it via the web site and ended up having 2 boosters applied to my account simultaneously, for free.

I go to 'My plan' then 'Your current services' and I see this:

£ 10 SIMO discount
Recurring cost
Free

AFAIK Orange and T-Mobile usualy charge an early termination fee at the time of requesting the PAC not when you use it.

It is worth mentioning it says in T/C you need to give them a call in order to terminate the contract. They won't accept a letter or fax. Also if you'd request to terminate without a PAC and then just before the 30th day of notice request a PAC they'll start a new 30 day notice on the day you request a PAC.

Also if you port a number in T-Mobile will split the bundles allowance (separately pro rata for each number) and you might go over the allowance even thou you're still in one billing period.

They applied the wrong booster to my account. I then changed it via the web site and ended up having 2 boosters applied to my account simultaneously, for free.

So did I and now I've 2 free flexible boosters. This offer is better I thought.

What happened to your 2nd booster davegr, seeing that you have disclaimed having it in your latest post ( reply #77 ) above ?        :-\

It's no longer available after the first month.

Was there ever a conclusion about whether or not it will continue to be free after the initial 12 months? Usually contracts auto renew with the same terms.

Guys, this contract deal I posted approx 11 months ago. Today was exactly 11 months into my contract. So I decided to call up to see whats happening for renewal. They said there was no way on this earth will they let me have it again for £0.00 per month. ;D (I don't blame them, with the minutes I used on the unlimited landline bolt on  ;D)

Anyway the best they could do for me was £5.00 per month for the same contract which is still very good considering the unlimited landline booster is no longer available (I think). They also said had I not called up today, next month when the 12 months were up this contract would have automatically gone up to the original price of £10.?? per month.

I said to them thanks but no thanks, I paid £0.00 per month for 12 months, why all of a sudden would I pay £5.00 for the same contract, it's a rip off. ;D ;D ;D
As I just took new on&on tariff contract I said to them to cancel my contract, by giving them 30 days notice.

So those of you who wish to continue with this contract, or wish to cancel, it's best to give them a call in case you forget.

Good luck

I think I may need to go to Specsavers as I can't see the unlimited landline booster in the link you provided. Care to point it out, please?

As far as I am aware, for sim only deals Tmobile no longer offer unlimited landlines booster, but instead they now do a booster of 5000 landline minutes. On their 18 and 24 month contracts I believe it's still available.

I thought my eyesight was good, forget the trip to Specsavers  ;)

They still do unlimited landline booster on You Fix sim only deals. I'm away from my pc at the moment otherwise I would have posted a link here. But its not hard to find on t-mobile website.

I reckon if you hadn't called up then it would just auto-renew, as every contract does. There was no qualifying period on the discount so that should continue too. It won't take long to find out anyway. What's a free contract for life for a few thousand people to them?

But when we took the contract out it stated discounted for 12 months.

This appears to be true, *BUT* what members need to remember is that SIM only deals are often not the best way to go.        ::)

There are plenty of options for getting unlimited landlines on T-Mobile's pay monthly plans (http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/plans/): indeed if you get a contract with 300 minutes or more, you get a *free* Unlimited Booster of your choice, which includes the unlimited landline Booster.        ;)

There are comparatively few cashback options with SIM only plans, but on pay monthly plans including a handset there are far more lucrative choices available.         ;D

I myself got such a deal through www.mobiles.co.uk only 6 month's ago.  The cashback from mobiles very nearly pays all my costs, and if Topcashback pay out in addition, I practically have a free handset, free 300 X-net minutes and 500 SMS per month for the 18 month duration, AND free Unlimited landlines as well.        ;D

I defy anybody to get full cashback on a SIM only deal !

I am afraid that members who don't do thorough research often fall prey to the belief that SIM only plans are the cheapest, whereas the facts are that contracts with handsets, bought through reputable cashback providers, give far better value IMO.        ;)

I don't recall that myself. It was just a 12 month contract (minimum term).

Any update on this Dave? Did you cancel your sims or did you manage to get them renewed on same terms??
