Thanks for the share.
Did you get any information about Fair Usage Policy (FUP), to define Unlimited MINUTES or Texts?

That's very good but it's shame about the data. Had it been unlimited data then I would have definitely took the offer.

Thanks for posting atinjain05.

If you go via topcashback "http://www.topcashback.co.uk/o2/" they're giving £90.90 cashback on this offer which brings the price down to £18.41/month which is a great price for someone who is looking for unlimited minutes & unlimitd texts with 1GB internet.

There's another On & On 12 months sim only deal which also gives you Unlimited minutes & Texts and 2GB of data but it's £31 per month. But when I had an online chat with an o2 sales advisor, in the beginning he said they have no fair usage policy but later stated it's approx 12000 mins & texts. Tethering is also allowed though.

You may also know but calls to 07937, 07624 and 07924 are also included (for those who use services like www.inclusiveinternationalcalls.com, http://uk.fwcall.com, www.aceonline.com 0r http://www.talkal.co.uk/)

I believe you mean www.acecallonline.com (who use 075371 numbers). Also 07781 numbers are inclusive (Cable & Wireless Guernsey).

O2 has new terms and conditions for pay monthly tariffs after 30 March 2012.
See this taken from their website:

2. Inclusive Minutes and Call Charges
Inclusive minutes on Pay Monthly tariffs can be used for calls made in the UK from your SIM Card to:
UK landlines (starting 01, 02 or 03); and
numbers allocated to UK mobile network operators that provide mobile services with substantial national coverage (this currently includes the five major operators O2, Orange or T-Mobile (together Everything Everywhere), Vodafone and 3, and providers like Virgin Mobile and Tesco Mobile that use major operators’ networks to provide their services), all provided that we may exclude from your inclusive minutes allowance calls made to any number ranges which we reasonably believe are being used for call forwarding services, onward calling services or numbers that pay a revenue share. Calls to some telephone helplines are also free of charge and don’t use up minutes from your inclusive allowance. A full list of these numbers can be found at: www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tariffs/freenumbers

Inclusive minutes can't be used for calls made to:
non-geographic numbers (starting 08, 05);
non-standard or "special" 07 numbers (all those 07 numbers that are not specifically included in your inclusive minutes, including 07 numbers allocated to network operators in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man); or
premium rate and directory enquiries numbers where special charges apply.
any chargeable messages you receive.

So it seems the 07937/07624/07924 are no longer inclusive from these new T&C's.
It would be interesting to know if anyone has upgraded/changed tariff/bought new tariff since March 30 2012 and to see if these numbers actually come out from your inclusive minutes or are they now chargeable.

Thanks

Jagga303

Yes, that would be interesting. But I spoke to the o2 advisor just before I posted my comment earlier and the guy said 07937, 07624 and 07924 are inclusive in their pay monthly On & On tarriffs and would come off from inclusive minutes. But this bit in their T&C's: "We may exclude from your inclusive minutes allowance calls made to any number ranges which we reasonably believe are being used for call forwarding services, onward calling services or numbers that pay a revenue share" is a bit of a let down.

Let's say these number ranges are included in their old/new all pay monthly contracts, would they charge if someone is using one of the services I mentioned a couple of posts above and the one that davegr mentioned?

From the bit above which you have quoted, it would seem that they won't charge you but will exclude this number from your inclusive minutes.
I had personal experience with o2 on this matter only last week. I use to dial 07 number which was a call forwarding service and it was  inclusive from my minutes, but all of a sudden they barred this number from my phone so in other words I can't call this any more from my phone, the call just drops.
They never charged me for calling this number.

Hope this helps

So for how long you used that 07 call-forwarding 07 number before they barred it? But you can always change your call-forwarding number can't you and start using another 07 call-forwarding number to the same destinaiton which was barred before.

They barred it after only 2 days of using it and they barred the complete number range, not only that one number.

From memory, O2's T&C's have pretty much always been the same, yet Jersey, Guernsey and IOM were inclusive anyway.

Not sure on this! when called O2 CS, they just said there is a FUP cap on it (not written/published anywhere) but users will be called/warned well in  advance before reaching that limit.

I tried to see on few orders from dialaphone on this tariff, it says 999999 minutes, but affordable mobile says 9999 minutes

How many calls can you make at one time, is it two?
Also do numbers like 07924/07624 come out of your inclusive minutes or are they chargeable.

Thanks

I used this 07 number for only a couple of days then it was barred. No, it wasn't possible to assign another 07 number as they had barred the whole range on this particular 07 number.

It is good deal that o2 mobile service in iphone 4s.I like it.It is a good deal but I want to know more about this deal.So please give me a more information about this deal then it would be a very nice.

smethrony, I'm not a mobile geek myself but sometimes (in your case most of the times) the information you're looking for is always there. You just quoted a comment from atinjan05 which included "a link" to the deal but still you're asking him. If I was you, I would click on the link and find the information that I need. Even then if I'm not sure about anything and need more info, I'll speak to the one the o2 online sales advisors. Come on man we know you can do it  ;)

Guys!

I'm seriously thinking of getting the o2 On & On tariff (not the one with iphone though  ;)). I have never used o2 in my life so I'm a bit concerned about a few things. Any help/information would be much appreciated from guys who have used or are currently using o2. My questions:

1. How is their overall coverage?

2. How is their mobile internet speed?

3. How many calls do they allow at one time?

4. http://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/our-latest-pay-monthly-tariff-terms#section2 here in 2.2 in their T&C's they say that calls to Isle of man, Jersey and Guernsey are not inclusive but we all know that they don't charge extra for calls to these number ranges 07937, 07781, 07624 etc which are assinged to networks in Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. Is it a matter of time that they would just start charging for these calls and would it just continue the way it is now?

5. Having asked quite a few o2 online advisors and got different answers, so guys on here who are on their On & On tariff could you please tell me if this particular tariff has any fair usage policy?

6. How many maximum minutes someone has used in one month on o2 without them making noise  ;D (PM would be welcomed  ;))

Thanks in advance!

Personally I have found O2's 2G coverage to be excellent but it's 3G coverage to be lacking, with barely any coverage at all outside of big cities or the centre of towns. I've even found a fair few dead spots around London, where other networks all had 3G.

When I did get a good 3G signal, Internet speed always seemed reasonable. Not quite as fast as I find Three to be but definitely acceptable.

With regards to your other questions I can only say that I have always found Jersey Guernsey and IOM to be inclusive from O2 contracts. They are/were also inclusive on Tesco (O2 MVNO) contracts. I'm not sure about PAYG but I know GiffGaff counts them as inclusive (and I believe also say that they don't). I think it's best to find out from somebody that has the On & On contract but failing that, it's quite likely they are inclusive.

well i am very happy with the o2 service to be honest with you guys, but yes jagga303 is right about making 03 topping up service. i can not make more than two calls a time as i did speak to o2 customer services to activate "conference or three way call" but it was hassle so gave up at the end. So as i have moved on to o2 with unlimited minutes to any uk mobile, landline except 0870,0871,0844,0845 numbers. Got samsung galaxy note and i have found it working faster than iphone.

Did use 07XXXXX call through service and i did update on 07XX international call through service that i did not get charge for to call the access number but unfortunately 07XXX access number has been barred or not working at the moment. But Mikael's mobile international call through still working and it comes out my allowance. But most of the time those 07XXX access numbers from Mikael's mobile international call through service are busy.

i could go for iphone4s with the unlimited minutes offer from o2 but did not want to pay £99 for the handset so thats why choosed samsung galaxy note

I completely agree with True_spirit and Davegr.I use O2 for a long time and found its the best network. Now on the new unlimited tariff. Although the 3G coverage is not excellent but the internet speed is quiet reasonable. Customer service is very good compare to many other providers. On line billing is another advantage unlike other networks O2 updates its on line billing almost the same day. You can only place 2 calls at a time and there is no conference facility. Another advantage is even if you over use your internet you will not be charged instead it will slow down the internet after your allowance has reached.
Regarding how many minutes and texts I think we should be reasonable otherwise like any network O2 also will smell a rat.

Most of the points are coverd by other users. On the number of calls at a time, I reiterate, I have got the conferencing call feature enabled on the new "on and on" tariff. So can make 5+1 calls at a time.

Nice one mate. Was it enabled by default or you called them to activate it? I've bought the On &  On tariff as well with the S3 ;). Will be delivered tomorrow. What reason did you give them to enable conference calling if you did call them?

No particular reason to be honest, just said i had it when i was with previous network and requested to enable it. They did enable it in no time.

Later after i ported in my number, i found out that the conference calling was disabled again. Called up o2 again, the lady who talked to me had no idea what it was, struggled for 40 minutes on the call just going in loop to send text something to somewhere to enable group conferencing which is a paid service on o2 and can add 39 people together on a call.. That was new to me and was not interested. Finally cut the call and dialled again, some gentleman did enable the basic call conferencing feature back again in no time.

oh yes i can live again  ;D because the thing has been updated by calling o2 customer services department that please activate conference call on my account. i am buzzing. i would advise all o2 customers please give quick call to o2 customer service centre and request them to activate conference call feature than you would be able to dial "FIVE (5)" numbers a time from one of Mikael's 03 topping up service.

it should work on any handset as person should not have iphone to activate conference feature as i do use now. Good luck

Well I spoke to 2 advisers this morning and they were going on about the "group call" feature where you can talk to upto 39 people and it is a chargeable service. Regarding the conference calling they both said it's already enabled on my account (On & On unlimited with S3) after both of them putting me on hold for more than 10 minutes each. But I can't make a conference call on o2. When I use my Three simcard in the phone it works but not with o2. They say it needs to be enabled from the handset. Bunch of idiots!!!

No no it has to be activate from the customer service department. I had spoken to more than 30 advisers and luckily activated from adviser yesterday after keep nocking their doors for at least three weeks. Tell them you do not need to activate GROUP CALL simply activate CONFERENCE CALL on your account. Thats it and good luck

Cheers mate. Looks like most of them don't seem to know much. I told them it's not a problem with the mobile phone as I am able to make a conference call using my Three simcard but they didn't want to know that. Damn....I thought Three customer service was terrible but o2 tops that.

Thanks for the good luck mate as it's not a good start with o2  ;)

Result  ;D

Called them again to enable the conference call feature and got through to a Scottish bloke. He was going on about the "group call" feature as well.... then a story that it's only available on iphone tariffs. When he said that, I don't know I just kinda lost my temper ;) and gave him a bit of peace of mind. I said I'm not putting the phone until its sorted or I'm cancelling my contract as I'm still within the 14 days peace of mind guarantee.

He put me on hold for 2 minutes and came back with a good news. Bless him  ;).

Thanks TRuE_SpiRiT and the rest  :)

Is there any solid evidence regarding O2's FUP on the On & On contract, such as online T&C's?

I believe there was some kind of recent change in advertising standards where any company advertising unlimited services has to clearly state any fair use policy clearly in their advertising material. I don't know remember where I heard this or know for certain that it has been enforced but if it has, then clearly O2 really does mean unlimited.

Of course, there may be some other clause in the T&C's to cover such usage as users of this forum might have in mind.

There might be  ;)

The problem is there's nothing in their t&c's as far as I know and if you speak to 30 o2 CS advisors in a day, you might get 30 different answers. But most of them said to me that there's no such limit on the number of minutes and texts you can call/month (if you're on Unlimited On & On Tariff) but there's always some sort of limit to prevent it from being abused i.e. spam etc (In other words as you said to stop us abusing their system  ;D)

Using O2 for long time  can say they don't stop you until they see you are abusing the system. Although the texts are unlimited I have been charged once a heavily but after discussing with o2 CS they agreed its unlimited and reduced that amount from my bill. Why I am saying this is although its unlimited there is a limit where they will charge. So if we need to use it for long term we all needs to be sensible using the service.

I don't recall ever hearing a customer being harshly punished for "abuse" of O2's tariffs but there is a first time for everything. I think 75000 minutes in a month is rather excessive and can be expected to prompt a response from them sooner or later. It's even worse when you take into account conference calling which will use even more resources.
