Title: O2 direct or Carphonewarehouse?
Post by: NewStarter on May 04, 2012, 09:44:24 AM
I am looking for a new contract from O2. I get the same deal from both O2 direct and Carphonewarehouse, with CPWH throwing in some freebies. Not a big difference really but something better than nothing!! :)

Can anyone suggest if there is any advantage (or disadvantage) in going to CPWH than O2 direct? Or is it all the same?

For your deal, have you also looked at www.mobiles.co.uk and www.e2save.com (trading divisions of CPW)?

Also compare cashback between quidco and topcashback, which you've probably done.

Thanks pharmaa.. Have done that exercise already. :)
I was wondering, if it makes any difference (Other than the initial benefits of cashback and small gifts) by directly going to O2? I mean like billing or customer service. etc.

For many years CPW offered  their own O2 contracts.  They could do so because they were the service provider.

However, 2 or 3 years ago things changed, and any O2 contracts CPW sold were with O2 direct.  They were just the middle man.

IF things have returned to the older system, there may be some advantages ( as well as disadvantages ) in going with CPW instead of O2 direct.  But I suspect they are still selling contracts for O2.

It all depends on who the service provider will be.  Why not call CPW on one of their freephone numbers to clarify the position ?        :-\

HTH.

You are right.. I did talk to CPW just before you posted and they confirmed they are just man in the middle. Billing will be directly from O2.

You are right newstarter. I am having O2 contract with CPW/mobiles.co.uk for the last 2 yrs and still continuing. All the billing is directly with O2 direct. There is no difference in the contract if you take it direct or not.
