Title: Vodafone £20.50 contract for £7.87 after cashback
Post by: jagga303 on March 08, 2013, 10:04:37 AM
Saw this on HUKD.

12-month plan
£20.50 a month
Unlimited UK minutes for calls to mobiles and landlines (starting 01, 02, 03)
Unlimited standard UK texts
1 GB of UK internet
750 MB of UK Wi-Fi access

http://www.topcashback.co.uk/vodafone_-_personal/ £151.50 from topcashback

12x£20.50-151.50= 12months of £7.87

If you work for NHS or know anybody who works for NHS, then you can get extra 20% off directly from Vodafone.

Hope this helps.

There are other companies too. But Voda wont give anyone a definitive list, the idea being that if you work for one of the companies then you will know about the discount!. If you search around on the net theres some lists floating around but nothing official

...also, if you use discount codes or the line rental has got the discount applied the cashback might be declined...

Deal looking very attractive but I never used top cashback.

Can some one explain me how we will get the cashback and when? Who gives cashback.....Voda or TCB? Sorry for asking such questions.

Thanks & Regards

TCB gives the cashback.  Can take anything from a few weeks to a few months to obtain the cashback.  I suggest you read all the terms and conditions on the TCB website regarding the vodafone offer/cashback and also to read the HUKD posts, as it seems vodafone have been a wee bit iffy regarding the cashback to TCB and thus to the end customer.

It is a very good deal if the cashback tracks and is paid!

Its also worth noting  " To be eligible for Cashback on Vodafone Contracts you must be a new customer to Vodafone.

A very interesting and valid point there.  What is Vodafone's definition of a new customer?

1. Never had a contract before with vodafone, so not on their database - New customer definitely.

2. Had a voda contract before but no current voda contracts - will be on the database as an old customer.  If you take a new voda contract, does that mean you're a new customer or still an existing customer(through being an old customer).

3. You have an existing voda contract so you are a customer.  If you buy a new contract, does that mean voda classifies this as being a new customer.  I don't think so.

Decisions decisions.

Hope this clarifies for a few that are thinking of using TCB to buy a voda contract.

It's not a rocket science pharmaa. Don't make it so complicated please. A "new customer" simply means a new customer i.e. you're not an "existing" contract or pay as you go customer.

Apologies for complicating it.  £150 pounds is a lot of money if members are basing their decisions on buying a contract.

I thought is was a straightforward and valid point.

It's just that the definition of a new customer is ambiguous because there is no definition on either TCB or Vodafone websites.

So if anyone who was an old customer with vodafone before and has taken a new voda contract and has been paid the cashback, please could you post here so that others will know that there is a chance of getting the cashback?

From a google search:
Definition Of New Customer
"We are debating the definition of a new customer between Marketing and Sales. Our contention is that new means we have never had an order from the customer before and need to set them up with a new customer ..."

I agree with pharmaa. It is a valid point indeed and I'd love to know if someone who used to be the vodafone customer before could receive that cashback.

cashback is down to £121 this week (on TCB). I'm sure it will be up to £150 in a couple of weeks. I hope so! Even at £120 its a deal not to be sniffed at.

As for cashback not tracking - As long as you clear your cookies before logging on to quidco/TCB you should have no problem. Quidco pay out vodafone cashback within 3 weeks which is very quick and they have been very reliable for me.

The status at TCB web site is as below:

Estimated Payable  : 13 weeks
Statue                 : Pending
Cash Back            :£151.50

Cookies in web browser are enabled as advised. First time customer to Vodafone and SIM only deal. so fingers crossed.  :)

Looks like its tracked then. Expect payment in 13 weeks as it says ..

In the meantime, one of the T&Cs is the order must be completed wholly online for cashback. Obviously you've done this for it to be able to track, but just to be extra safe, if you need to call up Voda CS, dont call them up but use the online chat feature to talk to CS :) -- log on to vodafone.co.uk , click on Shop -> Mobile Phones. Eventually within a few seconds a chat window will open up. They are the sales team. Tell them you are existing customer and to put you through to Online CS :)

The cashback will most likely be paid out regardless now, but some companies love excuses not to pay out, so by using online chat you are not giving any excuses for them to reject the cashback, even though your order is now complete.

Guys,

I took the £20.50 contract (365 days, Unlimited Mins, Unlimited texts, 1GB data SIM Only):

Last 4-5 days, I had long conversations with vodafone helpdesk to find out FUP for unlimited mins & texts through chat, helpdesk and email and below information I wanted to share (which may help someone).

1. All the helpdesk guys does not give proper information. Out of 6-7 talks, only one said  there is FUP of 6000 mins to calls. but not able to give me the link where it shows this information. He said that it is the telecom companies limit and not Vodafone's limit. Still not clear information.

2. There will be charges if you send texts more than 160 characters. 16p per text. so be careful. This is confirmed.

3. On day-one, I called 07666 numbers for 2-3 secs and got the bill for 6 calls but after fighting with them they have reverted back because I proved that your helpdesk person on first time mentioned that all calls to 01, 02, 03 and 07 (all numbers) free and unlimited. Now noticed that  there are charges for calling 07744, 07755, 07666, 070 numbers.

4. They are not able to tell what is this plan called. One said "Red SIM Only Plan". Other said "SIM only iPhone unlimited Plan". Still I do not know what plan it is called.  :(

Can anybody confirm that how many minutes/texts you have used on this plans? and not received any additional bill?

Also I will be happy to know that which services are the best to use with this SIM.  First time with Vodafone so I am careful  :)

Thanks & Regards
VJ

sagarvijaykumar I am surprised and sorry to hear that you've had problems with Vodafone. In my experience the customer services of Vodafone has been nothing short of very good. I love the chat feature as it allows you to get on with your normal ...er...'work' in the office while discretely sorting out any issues or questions with Vodafone :) To my knowledge, no other UK network has such a feature where you can chat with a call center person online (not Sales, but someone to access your account details).

In my experience, O2 and Voda have very good customer service and always resolved my issues quickly.

Orange are close to useless.

Virgin are down there with Orange (sadly I'm on Virgin at the moment :( ).

Not had experience of other networks so can't say.

very interesting and useful. But it always amuses me when people complain about getting contacted by the networks after abusing the unlimited policy. If youre going to abuse the system then expect to be contacted and dont moan :) Its simple.

The reason for asking about 07744 and 07755 charges is (a.O2 charges for these numbers  b.Want to check with Vodafone that what are the hidden things not mentioned on site i.e., FUP). If this has lead to confusion, sorry about that.

On this vodafone sim only Red plan, are there any charges if you go over one hour of continous calling. i mean do you have to cut the call before it reaches 60 minutes and redial?

No. They don't charge if you go over 60 minutes but it's a good practice to keep your calls as short as possible, atleast just less than an hour 45-55 minutes.

I noticed exactly the same with calls dropping sometimes as often as every 5 minutes.  I have been a Vodafone customer for approximately 10 years using it in the same geographical area and have noticed the service/performance gradually declining.  I couldn't decide if it was my new SIM card or new handset, but perhaps it is just the advent of their Red tariffs, admittedly I'm (ab)using it too.  Will attempt to unlock handset and try a different provider's SIM card in the handset.

This deal is good and I have it for my main phone. But the network is absolute crap. Slow data and no 3G in most places in major cities like Nottingham !

I also have my main number on a Vodafone Red SIM, but my experience is entirely different.  :o

In spite of living only about 25 miles from Nottingham, I have NEVER suffered a dropped call on this network, and although their 3G signal is weaker than other networks where I am, I have noticed no lack of HSPDA speed.  ;)

My only quarrel with them is the way that they deleted accounts earlier in the year.  In all other respects, I have been favourably impressed with them.  :)

i have experienced way too many call dropping problems with vodafone, complained about it so many times, they sent me new sim as well. but the problem of call dropping is still there. its like i will have full signal or good signal and even then call will drop. Never had any problems with Tmobile and O2, my previous networks.

In short, will never go for Vodafone again.

a good deal if the TCB or Quidco tracks, but do check the reception in your area. Voda have been horrendously rubbish for me . Calls dropping all the time, data speeds really slow or non existent in populated areas.

Hi Shaggy,

Do you have any Contract from Vodafone which you are using for CCB. I had one in the past from them but after couple of months they terminated that because of high usage.

I think the position is quite clear.  :)

IF you buy from Vodafone direct, they only pay cashback on an initial contract.  ???

However, if you buy from the likes of e2save (http://www.e2save.co.uk) or mobiles.co.uk (http://www.mobiles.co.uk), you will get your cashback as normal on subsequent accounts.  :)

I have 2 Vodafone contracts myself.
I got cashback from Vodafone on my first, but went to mobiles.co.uk for the second.
I am receiving my cashback fully from mobiles.co.uk, on my second contract  ;)

I have the same question. Can anybody who has used qudico/topcashback for vodafone 2nd contract and got cashback please confirm.

Thanks

Hi guys

Ive got experience buying second vodafone line through Quidco and can confirm that even though there is warning that the cash back is for new customers but I've got my referral my Quidco without any problem.

Hope this would help

hi zaheer
did u took the second connection as two connections on your name or u took additional connection on your previous line...because vodafone telling i cant have two different accounts ...but what they saying i can take additional line...so if i take additional connection do i still get cashback...please share your experience when time permits
thanks

You place your contact as normal and Vodafone would deal with it as your additional line when they receive sales through Quidco or Top cash back. But you would get your cash back as advertised. Exactly same happened when I had 2nd line from Vodafone.
But one thing I would say that be very gentle with the usage or they would terminate your contract

thanks for info zaheer...what do you mean by gentle..because you have 2 line do they see together spending minutes as one account..or 2 separate lines

'be gentle' means do not go over the top with 'unlimited' usage.
