Title: Mobiles by Sainsburys
Post by: mobileman on October 02, 2013, 10:40:33 AM

Having seen some recent TV ads, I realised that nobody had introduced the new MVNO called www.mobilebysainsburys.co.uk (http://www.mobilebysainsburys.co.uk)

It was introduced back on the 1st July, see this (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/10200224/Sainsburys-launches-pay-as-you-go-mobile-network.html), but was missed here.  It runs on the Vodafone network.

It caters for both basic Pay & Go (http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/basic) use, and offers bundles (http://) for those wanting more.  Nectar points are gained by topping up, and you get double nectar points on Sainsburys shopping and fuel when buying a bundle.
You can get up to 3 free SIMs (https://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/free-sim) per household.

On the basic (Pay & Go) plan it costs 8p per minute for calls and 4p per text.  The latter figures undercut the charge on Asda and Giffgaff by 2p for each text.

Bundles can be bought for £10, £15 or £20.  All three give unlimited SMS (FUP 5000 in 30 days), and come with this offer:

Quote
Buy one of our great-value bundles and collect DOUBLE Nectar points on your Sainsbury’s shopping and fuel* for the 30-day life of your bundle! - See more at here http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/bundle#sthash.RIOSmvKX.dpuf (http://)

Note the T & Cs state that texts are for personal use.

If you send messages for commercial reasons or in breach of our terms and conditions, you may be charged or we’ll suspend your use. We may not tell you before we do this. - See more at: http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/mbs-fair-use-policy#sthash.Wes1D0tT.dpuf (http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/mbs-fair-use-policy#sthash.Wes1D0tT.dpuf)here.

There are a range of discounted mobiles which can be bought: see Basic text and talk (http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/phones.html?special_filter=92), Standard Smartphones (http://),   and Top-end phones (http://www.phoneshopbysainsburys.co.uk/phones.html?special_filter=90)

The text charge undercuts Vodafone PAYG by a considerable margin, as well as other MVNOs like Asda and Giffgaff.
