Title: Three to offer free 0800, 0808 and 0500 on new plans
Post by: korny88 on March 18, 2014, 02:50:06 PM
According to this page here at 3:
http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBISAPI.DLL?Command=New,Kb=Mobile,Ts=Mobile,T=OnlinePortlet,varset_cat=callsemails,varset_subcat=3788,Case=obj(4570)

they are now offering free inclusive 0800, 0500 and 0808 calls on new plans.

Also, they state all calls to 0871, 0872, 0843 and 0844 will be charged at 5p. Interesting considering some 0871 and 0872 cost more than that regularly.

I initially interpreted the charge to be 5p for 0845 and 0870 calls however I see that they do state clearly that it's for all 084 and 087. Not bad at all if it turns out to be the case. Even better if they apply such a charge to PAYG.

Dave,
Do you have anything interesting to do with inclusive 084 and 087 numbers?

Of course I do but I don't think this is the place to discuss ;) Check your PM.

Interesting, and potentially attractive, as the 08 calling prices appear to be, they need to be balanced by some bad news for new '3' customers.   :o

According to this article (http://), '3' are cancelling unlimited 3G and 4G tethering, ostensibly to guard against 1% of customers spoiling things for the rest.   :'(

As unlimited tethering was previously the biggest attraction for new '3' One Plans, alas that is now gone.  ???

That is very disappointing news. :'(  Thank you for having flagged this up to forum members, Mobileman.

There seems to be some confusion about this, however: I have just seen on the Three blog that the One Plan Sim Only will still offer unlimited tethering. ;)

A few more changes in the new plans: in addition to 'free' 0800 / 0500 calls, some plans also appear to be offering "All-you-can-eat" minutes and "all-you-can-eat" texts (commercial response to Vodafone Red?) I hope to get some clarification today as to whether those descriptions truly reflect what will be available to Three customers...so far, I have not been able to find any mention of any FUPs.

Free Three to Three minutes no longer seem to be included in any of the new plans.
