Title: Sad news about Woolworths. Post by: mobileman on November 27, 2008, 10:23:16 AM Woolworths has been such a part of most High Streets, for so long, that it is sad to hear that it is sinking under a mountain of debt, and has been placed in administration. :'( It has been announced that money has been put aside to give staff their pay for this month, but there is nothing after that. :'( The stores remain open to trade however, and there were 30% discounts on offer yesterday. :o Today there are "3 for 2" offers on all their sweat ranges, and other offers besides. :) I made a special point of enquiring this morning about whether there were any offers on their mobile 'phones, but was told not "as yet". However, the other offers in their shops appear to show that they want to move stock in a hurry, so anyone wanting a cheap pay & go mobile, or a cheap replacement for a faulty contract one, may be well advised to look in regularly to see if offers are extended to mobiles too. ;) Any opportunity to buy cheaply may be very short lived, so be alert and don't miss out if the opportunity presents itself. ;) |
