Title: Introducing pre-dial's NGN callthrough services.
Post by: mobaholic on May 24, 2008, 04:43:20 PM

The original NGN services of pre-dial are fully described on its website at:-

http://www.pre-dial.com/frame_destlisto.htm (http://www.pre-dial.com/frame_destlisto.htm)

This NGN service works 24/7, and their destinations are fully given on the link above.

HOWEVER, there are additional destinations available through alternative NGN access numbers - 0844-484-8429  (peak times), and  0870-479-8429 (off peak).

These give access to Bangladesh and Pakistan, in addition to those the normal pre-dial 0844 destinations support.

There is also a new NGN services reaching to India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

These destinations may be called 24/7 through the access number 0844-774-3940;
and they may be called on weekdays only through access number 0870-479-3940.

Can we publish charges for dialing these numbers

Thank you for your post panda.

My reaction, when I first saw it, was to say: "what a good idea!"       8)
However, my brain began to hurt when I started to think of the complexities involved.        :'(
There are just so many different providers, with different calling packages, and widely varying prices.     :'(

Having given this a little thought, I should like to propose some positive actions which we can take in response to your idea.

Firstly, you can help with this yourself.  Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you use BT for your calls, and have a good knowledge of their charges.  You could post the BT prices for these calls.

Secondly, others can join in too, and also offer their help.
Those with different providers - be it NTL, Sky Talk, Talk Talk, Telesave, Tiscali, Wave Crest, One.Tel or whoever - can also find out their costs, and post them here also.
We shall then be able to start to build up a good overall picture.

Thirdly, your post has sparked an idea in my head of adding to the Sundry Information board a new topic to show a list of call price checkers.  I know of the BT one here (http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=15718)
and its companion one for specialist numbers here (http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/consumerProducts/pdf/SpecialisedNos.pdf).

Please will those who use other service providers drop me a PM - giving the exact URL to use to check call prices on their network package kindly.
When all this information is collected, I shall be able to increase the value of both this thread, and that of the information pages also.        :)

So again I say a warm thanks for the stimulation your post has afforded me.        :)

I am not sure if anyone else having the same problem but there seems to be some kind of connection issues when I ring certain mobile numbers in India in past couple of days or so.  I have been able to connect until recently but all of sudden it now keep saying "We were unable to connect...........".

The mobile number is in Gujarat, India.  Also as I said only few numbers says this message since past couple of days and no issues with most others and definetly no problem with any landline numbers.
