Network hopes to add a further 3,000 by end of 2010

3 has now installed 10,000 3G masts as part of its ongoing network rollout.

The mast was installed in Shooters Hill, south-east London, with the operator hoping to add another 3,000 by the end of 2010.

Operators have become increasingly focused on the quality of their network coverage over the past few months.

Both Vodafone and Orange have launched advertising campaigns highlighting the quality of their networks.

3 retail staff are using the network rollout as a selling aid and are drawing customers' attention to it.

The operator claims its 3G network covers 93% of the population.
