Orange has tweaked its mobile broadband contracts, adjusting its existing deals slightly and introducing its 'animal' branding to the array of tariffs on offer.

Contracts continue to run for a month or 18 months, with Huawei's E1752 modem respectively setting punters back £29 or nothing at all.  Orange is also offering Option's 515M dongle for £50 on the one-month tariff or £20 on the other.

After choosing your contract duration, you now have the pick of three packages: Panther, Dolphin or Racoon.  The latter is the cheap one: £5 or £10 a month on an 18-month contract with, respectively 500MB and 1.5GB monthly data allowances, or £10 per month with a 1GB allowance on a one-month term. The £5 offer is only available to Orange monile customers.

Dolphin costs £15 per month, with the one-month contract bringing in 2GB of data transfer, rising to 3GB if you tie in for 18 months.  Punters can also pick a "Happy Hour" for 60 minues' unlimited access: 8-9am, 12-1pm, 4-5pm or 10-11pm.

Panther costs £25 or £35 a month, one-month contract or 18, respectively, with 10GB or 'unlimited' data usage.  Unlimited, as ever, has a fair use limit.

Orange said Panther, Dolphin and Racoon plans are also available with Asus Eee PC 1005HGO netbook or HP's Compaq CQ61 notebook on two-year plans.  The computer is free, but you pay an extra £15-20 over the regular month fee.

The new plans are available from today.
