Just seen this site: www.talk2talk.tel

It cliams to allow free international calls by dialling a standard landline number during peak hours.

Has anyone used this service?

This site also offers a very reasonably priced access number for calling UK mobiles, from a UK landline, at just 4 pence a minute plus a connection charge.

Are you sure you can phone UK Mobiles ?

Talks about calls to Israel · USA · Canada ,
and says "use  these numbers below to make low cost great quality international calls"

By the way www.talk2talk.biz is easier on the eye. Smiley

Seems to be part of IDT Europe.

Graham is referring to their 08430 110 110 callthrough number. From a BT residential landline, this allows calls to UK mobiles at 4p/min plus 6p connection charge. Not bad I suppose.

I can work out the number Graham is referring to  Wink, but where does it mention its for calling UK Mobiles.
Have you tried it ?

Unfortunately not. I actually no longer have a BT landline. I just assumed it was for calling UK mobiles, as its box seems to have no other flags in it unlike the others. It's not for calling USA or Canada mobiles (as that would be the same as landlines) but it may allow calling other EU mobiles too and perhaps even Israeli mobiles. (As the site seems in part written in Hebrew, and appears to be focussed at that market). I suppose it really needs to be tried.

Since last posting i tried it. It does not work to UK Mobile,s either by dialling UK Format or Intl Format.

4p a minute is about the going rate for calling Israeli Mobiles,so its possibly solely for them.

Thanks for testing that. That makes sense now.

For people wanting to call UK mobiles for cheap, then www.voipgain.com still seem to do it for around 2.4p/min! Not sure how much longer that may last!
