ANTENNA ENGINEERS at Apple tried to warn Steve Jobs that the Iphone 4 was broken, but he insisted that it looked so nice that people would buy it anyway.
According to the
New York Daily News, Jobs knew that there was a problem with the reception, but he thought Apple fanbois would be more impressed with the sleek design.
He thought it unlikley that anyone would try to call anyone on it, obviously.
When it was revealed that the Iphone 4 was broken, Apple said the problem was a software malfunction and even suggested that people were stupid for holding their phones incorrectly.
Legions of fanbois were despatched to websites to call reporters who covered the broken Iphone 4 "biased" and threaten never to visit the site again if they ever mentioned it.
However it appears there were just enough normal people who were furious that Steve Jobs had flogged them a broken phone to make a difference.
Apple has scheduled a news conference for this afternoon. The company is keeping details top secret. Some people think that Apple will recall the expensive gadget, however this is completely unlikely as it would require Steve Jobs to admit that he was wrong.
Others have suggested that there might be a hardware fix. But the smart money thinks that Apple will send out a 10-cent Irubber band to wrap around the Iphone 4. This will mean that the phone will work properly again and since it will be branded and have a name that starts with an "I" no one will care that it is basically just a stupid rubber band that will get dirty and eventually break.
However the fact that the Iphone Flaw requires a rubber band to work will be the butt of many jokes, and we will keep them coming.
