My Friend works in T-Mobile head office and he said that it is purely to boost sales and generate more revenue.

You pay £5 more but you get 200 extra extra cross network minutes which can be used to call 08 number as well, so it can be worth a little extra  Wink. You also get £150 worth of Tesco vouchers.

Sorry couldn't get it,when I checked the plan cost it says All numbers starting with 08 will be charged 40p per minutes?

08x numbers are not included in full monty plans..
08x numbers ARE included in standard plans issued after FEB 2012 (I think I got the date right  Huh )

All pay monthly and sim only plans (except You Fix Plans) allow calls to all 08 numbers. Have a look here http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/terms-and-conditions/pay-monthly/
