This Phone is only £5 in Tesco Extra Stores when you take it with an O2 sim.  No Top up required, you only need to pay £5 for the Phone cost. The same Phone is available online from Tesco Direct for £15.

I was about to post this but you just beat me to it! Great cheap phone and I bagged me a few. Excellent for call services used by members here but IMHO not for group text messaging. For that I recommend Samsung e2121b

I agree with shaggy.
For sending group txt messaging better to go with samsung e2121b. I`ve got the phone from carphonewarehouse for just £3.62 as O2 pay as you go upgrade(only handset,no topup required if you have an existing O2 sim card)

samsung e2121b Key features:
the Samsung GT-E2121B comes with a MP3 player and FM radio. Using a 0.3 MP camera of this phone, you can capture the action as it unfolds. You can surf the Internet on the move with the WAP support in this Samsung mobile phone. With Bluetooth connectivity, this candybar phone helps you to easily sync media contents with other portable devices. The Samsung GT-E2121B supports memory expansion up to 2 GB via microSD card.

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/pay-as-you-go/payg-upgrades

terms & conditions to get the phone as a O2 upgrade in carphonewarehouse:
O2-It must be 6 months since joining O2 or 6 months since last upgrade. A chargeable event must have occurred on the number at any time.

Good price on upgrade. I have a few O2 sims courtesy of the Tesco E1200 deal, but obviously none are >6 months old Sad
