A cracking (once in a blue moon) offer, ideal for light to low usage giving 100MB free data per/month (ongoing!)*

* Free data: Mobile phone and SIM offers end 28/12/2014. Tablet offer ends 31/01/2015. Compatible device required. Over 16s only. To activate this offer, use your phone or SIM once before 04/01/2015 (for SIM you will also need to top up at least £5) or register your tablet by 06/02/2015. Data will last 30 days or until it’s used, whichever comes first. Data will not roll over. Data for person to person use in UK only. Must use your device or SIM at least once every 180 days to receive offer. Other terms apply, please see ee.co.uk/freedata

For full details see: http://ee.co.uk/help/accounts-billing-and-topping-up/pay-as-you-go-top-ups/free-data-offer

Rare for a network to give any allowance free on Pay&Go without the need to top-up regularly (except free voicemail/on-net calls on some) so grab while you can.
Sim only option is available online at just £5; already credited to card & option to pay by voucher code if you wish : - )

100MB of data isn't a lot but for certain applications, could be useful. One thought that crossed my mind is combining it with an app like Upptalk and essentially having a "free" mobile phone service (depending on your particular usage pattern).
