Anybody who lives near a Morrison's store may like to take a look at their latest mobile offerings.    Wink

They have a Nokia 2630 on Orange for the bargain price of just £30.      Smiley

The 2630 sells for £39-99 at most shops, but this requires a minimum £10 top up.

The Morrisons' price is just £30 INCLUDING a free £10 top up!

This means that the 'phone is effectively being sold at half price ( £20 instead of £40 ).    Wink  Smiley  Smiley

Hi Mobileman,  I just need a little help !
I have BT mobile pay as you go sim with 15 £ credit in it. My old BT mobile phone isn't working well. I want to buy a new handset which can be used for BT mobile sim. BT mobile don't sell phones any more. Which other pay as you go phone would be compatible with BT sim?
Thanks,
Ash

Hi Ash,

Any unlocked GSM dualband/ triband phone will work with the SIM that you have. If you are after pay as you go, go to carphone warehouse (just a suggestion) and all thier pay as you go phones are unlocked (confirm with them also). However, you would have to buy a 10 quid sim with that- you get 10 quid credit on that.

You could also try ebay for unlocked or sim free phones(at your risk)

Regards

Good morning ash.    Smiley

BT Mobile pigggy backs on the Vodafone network, so before you rush out to buy a new handset, just check first if you have any spare mobile which is either locked to Vodafone, or is unlocked.  AFAIK BT Mobile should work in a Vodafone mobile ( just as an Asda does ).    Wink

Secondly, if you have no spare handsets, or those that you have will not work, you will need to buy one that is either on Vodafone, or is unlocked.  I would agree with nixforfun to some extent, in that the Carphonewarehouse is a good place to go.  Many of their 'phones are unlocked.  But there are some exceptions on the pay & go side, I believe, so please follows Nik's advice about checking with them before buying.  Some networks will not allow their pay & go hansets to be sold unlocked (a rotten orange springs strangely to mind!) so do not presume that their every handset will be unlocked.  If you doubt the competence of the salesman to whom you are speaking, you can always ask to try your own SIM in it just to make sure that it will work for you OK.  (I have done this myself many times, and have always been allowed to do so).    Wink

HTH.

mm.

thanks nix and mm. will go to carphonewarehouse.

Just to add to what mm and Nik have said, the last time I went into an Asda store, they were changing all the SEL's to say that their Asda mobiles were all unlocked now.

I cannot confirm this change, but it strikes me as being a 'win / win' scenario.

If you get an unlocked mobile that's fine: if not, its probably locked to Vodafone, and will do equally well.
