Having just logged out of a Hotmail account, I glanced at the MSN news hyperlinks.        Shocked

One that caught my eye was entitled: "The 7 biggest broadband rip-offs."  You may read it here.        Wink

As I found that quite interesting, I decided to follow other hyperlinks at the bottom of the above page.  One of these took me to: "Are you getting the best from your broadband?" which again might be interesting to read here.       Wink

As many members here may have their own broadband connections at home, or in their business, it would perhaps be good to encourage some feedback about the 'goodies' to go for, and the 'baddies' to avoid.        Wink

Anyone willing to share their experiences, please post below.        Smiley

You dont always need a phone line to get broadband as the rip off article suggests.

If you live in a Virgin Media Cable Area they offer Broadband Only.
See:  http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=227

It comes with a 28 day money back guarantee.

£65 cashback available via www.cashbackkings.com

Your link shows that it's only 2 Mb, which is quite slow compared with many offers which are 8 - 24 Mb; that it's £17 per month after the first 6 months, for which money many rival packages will offer more services; and above all, there is no warning about being lumbered with Virginmedia's appallingly inacurate billing systems, and atrocious customer services.   Huh

All in all one to be avoided at all costs, except by deranged masochists!     Grin

I was not recommending it i was only saying that broadband only was possible and giving an example.

Although my link goes to the M Tariff you could if you wanted to click on the L or XL tariff details.

£10x6 + £17x6 = £162 - £65 = £97 which averages out just over £8 a month for the first year  is a good price,and you can always renegotiate in year 2

PS.

I get the impression that a number of the major contributors on this site including yourself are one and the same person ,they even argue with one and other. How sad can you get. Sad  I am surprised that Mikhael allows such nonsense. Shocked

Your post looked like it was recommending Virginmedia to me, but if you say you were not, that's fair enough. The fact that they have alternatives on offer hardly answers my criticism of the deal you highlighted however.

Most of us think that Mikael's forum is very helpful and informative.  It is yourself who is sad if you disagree.

I don't study how other members think personally, but I have single identities on this forum and on telecomforum.  Try and get a life mate!

It is understandable if your experiences and opinions of Virginmedia services differ, but please try to avoid any hostility in your posts.

If there are issues between the two of you, please deal with those through Personal Messages, not in a public duel, which will help nobody.     Wink

Thank you.     Smiley

Dave & HiPD

As i said before i only mentioned VM to highlight that Broadband only was possible,i dont have any experience or opinion of them

I was not being hostile only making an observation about multiple identitys . You included Dave.
I doubt if  Mikhael would be prepared to deny that what i was saying is not true.

I do think that parts of this forum are useful and in case you had not noticed i have made some useful contributions despite being given a hard time when i first registered.

Thank you for your post LVM.    Smiley

I appreciate that you have made a contribution here, which was the reason why I addressed my comments about avoiding any hostility in posts to the INTERACTION between HiPD and yourself, NOT to either of you individually.    Wink

It appeared to me that there was some friction beginning to appear, and the purpose of my warning was to ask for the temperature to cool down a little.    Smiley

Regarding your concerns about identities, HiPD has denied your charge, and when I checked with admin, mh said that his IP connection to the forum was unique, and is not shared by any other member.   Wink

Even if this were not the case, surely HiPD's value to the forum is based on his contributions, not his identity, just as your own is.    Wink
