Retail round-up: Prepay deals continue to dominate the high street

Saving the consumer money is at the top of retailers' agenda this week.  Value is offered in the form of 'extras', with a free Sky TV deal from Vodafone, free credit when you top-up with Orange, and a free Nokia 2630 when you sign up to O2 broadbandT-Mobile is discounting top-end handsets.

3 offers new £9 per month deal

The Samsung B2700 is in 3 stores now for £15 per month, or £120 on prepay.  The Nokia 3120 is new on the £9 contract.

Carphone bundle a Nintendo Wii with the new Sony Ericsson F305

Carphone Warehouse has the pink LG Cookie now in store, the handset costs £100 on prepay.  There is a new deal with the Nokia 5800; it is being bundled with a PSP for £35 per month on O2.  The Sony Ericsson F305 is new in store and is being bundled with a Nintendo Wii.  Customers can get money off their Orange bills with ‘billed credits’, or £10 off monthly bills with high-end phone contracts like the Samsung Pixon and the Sony Ericsson C905.  There are deductions on netbooks and the Asus Eee_PC is now £150 on prepay, or £19 per month on 3.

Get a free Nokia 2630 with O2 broadband

O2 is offering a free Nokia 2630, worth £40, to those taking out a mobile broadband contract.  Those going on a 24-month contract can get the service for £10 per month for the first four months and £15 per month thereafter.

Orange reward top-ups with free texts

The silver LG Cookie KF501 is in Orange stores for £100.  Incentives for prepay are abound in the store. Top-ups are rewarded with free text messages; for example, a £10 top-up rewards the customer with 300 texts.  Also, for every £10 top-up the prepay customer will get a £1 credit in the bank.

T-Mobile discount top-end handsets

T-Mobile is discounting many tariffs for top-end phones for the first three months of the contract.  The G1 is now £25 for the first three months and £35 for the remainder of the contract, which includes 700 minutes and unlimited texts.  The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is also £25 per month for the first three months and £35 per month thereafter.  Meanwhile, the store has a new prepay handset, the Nokia 7100 Jelly, now in store.  T-Mobile is giving a £200 gift card with the Nokia 6600 slide or the Sony Ericsson W760i on a £40 contract; the tariff includes 1,000 minutes and unlimited texts.

Get free Sky TV with Vodafone

Vodafone has the exclusive on the blue Nokia 5800.  The deal includes three months of free Sky Mobile TV on tariffs from £20 per month; the Sky service is £5 per month thereafter.  The store is also pushing prepay broadband; the dongle costs £40 and includes a free £15 top-up on purchase.  Vodafone is also offering an unlimited music download system for an additional £5 per month.
