Are you sure it is 011? I thought from Australia it was 0011 (double zero) for international calls

I agree with prion: from Australia ( country code +61, ) you use the following international prefixes for making calls abroad:-

Quote
Australia  0011 (Voice calls)
              0015 (Fax calls - Telstra)
              0018 (Telstra special rates)
0019 (Fax calls - Singtel Optus) 0         Wink

On the website to which Nik referred, it actually says to dial 0011:

Quote

Dial any one of our access numbers and follow the prompt.  Do remember to Prefix 0011 + Country code + Destination Number + # For Example to call India – 0011 +91+ 9912345678 + #

However, if one has to drop the leading zero when calling from the UK, (possibly?), both panda and nixforfun may be right.         Cool

Do any of the contributors to this thread have any experience of dialing via an Australian callthrough service ?        Undecided

If so please adjudicate below.  Thanks.        Smiley

I have just tried a couple of the landline access numbers in Sidney and Canberra and they work with 0011 followed by the country code. I made a couple of test calls to UK landline numbers. The call quality, (as you'd probably expect going via Australia!) was not fantastic.

Thanks Graham for confirming that the correct prefix to use for calls abroad from Australia is 0011, as mobaholic posted yesterday.    Smiley

Numbers not working ?

None of the services listed in the OP are pre-dial ones, and as I do not use any of them, I do not have any information about whether they are still working or not.
