I have been emailing the telephone provider Telesave about the cost of calling 0870 numbers through their service. This was charged at 8.5p / min. at peak times, 4.5p / min. in the evenings, and 2p / min. at weekends.
Although they have told me that they are not obliged to lower their rates, it is gratifying to see that they have now done so. It is extremely good news for their customers who access them from a mobile, as they have dropped their charge to that for calling 01, 02 or 03 numbers, namely 1.5p / 1p / 1p respectively. This gives a huge saving when compared with O2's charge of 20p on contracts or 25p on pay & go for example !
The charge is the same whether you connect from a landline or a mobile.
